The Office of Energy Resources, in collaboration with the Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, just launched a home electric vehicle (EV) charging rebate program! PowerUpRI provides rebates for both homeowners and landlords to install EV charging stations on their properties, making the transition to electric vehicles more accessible and affordable.
There are two tracks of rebates: standard and income qualified. The rebates also vary based on whether your property requires an electrical upgrade for the installation. (For a quick refresher on the different types of chargers, visit our Charging Basics page.)

During the event, Peter highlighted the numerous benefits of driving an electric vehicle, emphasizing the convenience of home charging compared to frequent trips to gas stations. He also demonstrated how easy it is to plug in and charge an electric vehicle at home.
