Great Heat Pump Prices Are Here: A New Pilot Program in Western Mass

There is good reason why the popularity of heat pumps has risen dramatically in recent years.  Advancements in technology have made Cold Climate Air-Source Heat Pumps (ccASHPs) a safe, comfortable, convenient, and efficient source of heating, even in cold climates like Massachusetts. Much like your refrigerator, air-source heat pumps work by moving heat into or out of a building. Because they don’t burn fuel, they can improve air quality, both indoor and out. Furthermore, ccASHPs can also cool, dehumidify, and integrate nicely with solar PV systems.

[Please note that this program is no longer accepting new applicants. We are leaving the post visible for general information only.]

The energy savings potential of ccASHPs, coupled with state incentives, can make them an affordable heating supplement for customers who currently heat with oil, electricity, or propane.

Right now Mass Energy is running a time-limited heat pump program in partnership with Meister Consultants Group and competitively selected, qualified oil dealers based in western Massachusetts ―Noonan Energy and Sandri Energy. Both Noonan and Sandri have the highest level of accreditation and training for the high-efficiency heat pumps selected for the program.

Homes in parts of Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties are eligible to participate in the program, which is running until November 30, 2015. You do not need to be a member of Mass Energy, so tell your friends! We hope to run similar programs in other parts of the state next year.

Similar to how our Discount Heating Oil Service works, Mass Energy is harnessing the purchasing power of many to drive down the cost of installing a ccASHP and has negotiated a base installation price below the state average.

  • Expanded HEAT Loan: A Mass Save program that offers 0% interest financing loans to make qualified energy efficient residential improvements, including installation of air source heat pumps and central wood pellet heating systems — masssave.com/en/residential/offers/heat-loan-program
