Key Financial Highlights (Fiscal Year 2024)

Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are a crucial part of how our organization speeds the transition to clean energy. REC income and expenses for Green Municipal Aggregation and Green Powered are, by far, the largest items in our overall budget.

Policy Victories & Ongoing Advocacy
Despite the federal government's regressive energy policies, we've achieved significant milestones in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our focus on state-level policy and consumer empowerment has yielded tangible results.
- We've championed the Clean Heat Standard and Building Performance Standards, advocating for policies that drive building decarbonization. While progress was slow in 2024, we remain optimistic about 2025.
- Despite federal uncertainty, we've celebrated the construction of Vineyard Wind and Revolution Wind, and supported the largest offshore wind procurement in US history. We continue to combat disinformation and highlight the immense benefits of offshore wind. (An offshore wind facility is pictured below)

Empowering Consumers Through Innovative Programs
Our programs make green energy more accessible. 2024 progress included:
- Green Municipal Aggregation (GMA): We've expanded our GMA program, supplying green electricity to nearly 40 communities, including 11 new additions in Massachusetts. This program continues to be our largest and most impactful.
- EquiSol: Our new EquiSol program is gaining momentum, providing low- and moderate-income residents with access to affordable solar energy. We're currently working on our first 10 projects in Boston.
- Drive Green: We've expanded our electric vehicle (EV) outreach and education, hosting events across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Our new EV Finder tool empowers consumers to compare models and costs.

The Road Ahead
We're committed to accelerating a just transition to a zero-carbon world, even in the face of adversity. Your continued support is crucial in this endeavor. Together, we can build a cleaner, more sustainable future for all.
