We are happy to announce our new-and-improved used EV Finder, a tool to help you find the pre-owned electric vehicle (EV) model that meets your driving needs and budget.
Vehicle prices (of all kinds, not just electric) are higher than ever; 20% of new-car buyers are now paying more than $1,000 a month for their vehicle. A pre-owned EV is a great choice if you want to pay less up front and save on fuel and maintenance, all while reducing air pollution.
Our Used EV Finder
Our used EV Finder works much like our EV Finder for new cars; you can sort and filter by different characteristics, particularly price and electric range, to find the vehicle model that best meets your needs. We've listed every used EV model we’re aware of, separated them out by model year (since, for example, a 2011 Nissan LEAF is significantly different in range and body style than a 2016 Nissan LEAF or a 2024 Nissan LEAF), and found Kelly Blue Book’s Fair Purchase Price for our area, which we’ll update periodically. That means you can, for example, get a list of vehicles that cost less than $15,000 and get more than 150 miles of range...

...or find the least expensive all-electric vehicle that’s no more than three model years old.

Then, you can use that information to check local dealerships or online sellers to find vehicles of your preferred make, model, and year. Our hope is that this tool makes it that much easier to opt for an electric vehicle the next time you purchase a new – well, pre-owned – vehicle.
Reminder: Used EV Incentives!
Massachusetts and Rhode Island residents can access state incentives to save on the purchase or lease of a used EV. See below for a quick summary of how these incentives stack up in either state.
Massachusetts MOR-EV Program
- $3,500 for a used EV that costs $40,000 or less and is purchased or leased at a licensed dealership
- To qualify, residents must participate in an income-qualifying program or meet certain adjusted gross income (AGI) limits
- Income-qualifying programs include Mass Health, LIHEAP, SNAP, and others.
- AGI limits:
- $75,000 for individual filers
- $112,500 for heads of household
- $150,000 for married filing jointly or a surviving spouse
- MOR-EV used can be accessed at the point-of-sale or within 90 days post-purchase/lease.
- Income-qualifying applicants may receive an additional $1,500 through MOR-EV+ (more information here).
Rhode Island DRIVE EV Program
- $2,500 for a used EV or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that costs $55,000 or less and is purchased at a licensed RI dealership
- RI residents may access this incentive within 120 days of purchasing or leasing their used EV.
- Income-qualifying residents may receive an additional $1,500 for a used EV or $750 for a used PHEV through DRIVE+ (more information here).
The Used EV Market
The used EV market is quietly thriving as average car prices reach record high numbers. In November, the average price for a used EV was $36,440, nearly twenty thousand dollars less than the price for a new car. Available pre-owned vehicles are relatively new; two thirds of listings are five years old and nearly half are three years old, according to Recurrent Auto in July 2025. Currently, the used EV market is overwhelmed with diverse inventory that can meet most budgets.
Customers can rest assured knowing that EV batteries last for 15 to 20+ years and battery warranties can pass on to new pre-owned vehicle owners. Most EV battery warranties cover between eight to ten years or 100,000 miles. Battery health can easily be tested; we recommend prospective buyers to ask dealerships to perform a battery health test and provide them with a copy of the battery health report.
