At Green Energy Consumers Alliance, we believe everyone should be able to benefit from the clean energy transition.

That’s why we’re excited to take a closer look at how emerging distributed energy resources can be made more affordable, accessible, and equitable. If you are a renter, we really want to hear from you.

What technologies are we researching?

Through this project, we’re exploring the barriers and opportunities for low-income households and renters to access technologies such as:

• Smart thermostats

• Residential battery storage

• Residential battery storage paired with solar

• Induction stoves with batteries

• Window heat pumps

• Heat pumps with built-in batteries

• Plug-in solar

Our goal is to identify programs and/or policy solutions that can help more people take advantage of these technologies.
